HOUSING & DEVELOPMENT LESSONS FROM THE OLYMPIC VILLAGE
(FEB. 22, 2010, VANCOUVER) – REGISTER TODAY!:PIBC OV Housing Poster
PIBC’s South Coast Chapter will be hosting another great PlanTalk event on the evening of Tues. Feb. 22nd to explore housing and residential development lessons and ideas stemming from the experience of Vancouver’s Olympic Village development.
While there has been a lot of heated discussion about what may have gone wrong (and right) with this high-profile project, what are the substantive policy, housing, planning and other lessons? With increasing land values in the region, the challenges of housing affordability, issues of sustainability, and the economic complexities of development, they are lessons of value to professionals, policy makers, and communities alike.
Join the discussion with a diverse panel of planners and other experts to see what lessons can be drawn, and how the Olympic Village experience can inform and improve housing policy, development, and planning approaches taken with other projects, and in other neighbourhoods and communities across the region.
When: Tuesday Feb. 22nd, 2011 – 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM (or 9:30 PM if the discussion warrants!)
